Betting. The Kansas City Chiefs are 3-point favorites in the Super Bowl across the board at Las Vegas sportsbooks after BetMGM and Station Casinos lowered the line Friday from 3½. Kansas City is a 3-point favorite over Tampa Bay, and the total is 56 in Super Bowl LV. Here’s a survey of opinions from media, oddsmakers and pro bettors and handicappers. Former Las Vegas resident Mark DeRosa won more than $300,000 in wagers after correctly predicting that Tom Brady would leave New England and land in Tampa Bay. The team that lost the first game has a winning record in the 13 previous Super Bowls between teams that played in the regular season. Most bettors will wait until closer to game time to weigh in. One sportsbook director said he doesn’t want to go to Kansas City -3½. Less than two weeks after launching a mobile app in Michigan, MGM Resorts International’s sports betting platform is teaming up with former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders.

The Chiefs opened as 3.5-point favorites but some big bets placed on the Buccaneers have dropped the line to a flat 3 points with 52% of the 2021 Super Bowl betting handle placed on Tampa Bay. The Chiefs still need to win by at least 4 points in order to cover the spread. Super Bowl Odds 2021: Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Spread, Over/Under Betting Guide. Featured Columnist February 6, 2021 Comments Comment Bubble Icon. Super Bowl Odds 2021: Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Spread, Over/Under Betting Guide. NFL fans who enjoy storylines will be in for a treat this Sunday. When the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers take the field, they'll bring with them one of the most intriguing quarterback matchups in recent memory. Buccaneers signal-caller Tom Brady will be playing in his 10th Super Bowl and looking for his seventh Lombardi Trophy—at 43 years old. Kansas City's young gunslinger—the 25-year-old Patrick Mahomes—will be playing in his second-consecutive Super Bowl. In only three years as a full-time starter, Mahomes has already won one Lombardi, one Super Bowl MVP and one regular-season MVP. In many ways, this quarterback matchup is representative of the NFL's past and its future. There's a lot more history involved in this game than at the quarterback position, though. Kansas City, which has been in the AFC title game three straight years, may be in the beginning stages of the league's next great dynasty. The Buccaneers are back in the big game for the first time since the 2002 season. Tampa won Super Bowl XXXVII to claim the only Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. Three will be plenty of star power on the field, too—from defensive playmakers like Shaquil Barrett and Chris Jones to pass-catching phenoms like Chris Godwin and Tyreek Hill. Super Bowl LV could be a shootout, a defensive battle or anything in between—though it landing on one extreme end of the spectrum or the other feels unlikely. How do the oddsmakers in Las Vegas see it? We'll examine the latest lines and over/unders from DraftKings Sportsbook, along with a close look at the game itself. Super Bowl LV. Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida. When: February 7, 2021. Time: 6:30 p.m. ET. TV and Live Stream: CBS, CBS All Access. Line and Over/Under: KC -3. 55.5. Injury Roundup. Injuries can and often do impact how a game lines up with the lines and over/unders. Therefore, it's worth diving into the final injury report for Super Bowl LV. The good news is that not many players from the playoff roster have officially been ruled out. The only players officially out are Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay and left tackle Eric Fisher. Of course, the Fisher injury could be huge, as right tackle Mitchell Schwartz has been out since Week 6. This means that the Chiefs will be short-handed trying to slow the Buccaneers pass rush and to protect Mahomes. With players like Barrett and Jason Pierre-Paul on Tampa's defensive front, Mahomes may be forced to buy a lot of time in the pocket himself. Kansas City wideout Sammy Watkins is listed as questionable, as are Buccaneers receiver Antonio Brown and tight end Cameron Brate. Breakdown. This game may be decided by Tampa's ability to pressure Mahomes. If the Buccaneers can get to Mahomes as they did Aaron Rodgers in the NFC title game—he was sacked five times—Tampa could quickly shift the momentum of this game. Of course, the pass rush is a two-way street, and Brady will have to deal with the likes of Chris Jones when he's on the field. When the Chiefs and Bucs faced off in the regular season, Brady was only sacked once, but he was also forced into two interceptions. Kansas City won that game 27-24. It's worth noting, though, that the Chiefs got off to a hot start in that game before surviving with a three-point win. The Buccaneers may get off to a slow start here, as is typical for Brady. In nine previous Super Bowl appearances, Brady's teams have scored a total of three points in the first quarter. "Hard to explain why or why not that hasn't happened," Brady said, per Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk. "I'm sure they're all a lot of individual things, why that's happened or not." Expect Brady to put a few more points on the board in this one, though, and to help the score creep past the over. While this may not be a full-on shootout, it's probably not going to be a defensive struggle, either. There will be too much offensive talent on the field—Hill, Travis Kelce, Chris Godwin, Evans, Watkins and Brown are just a few of the notable names—for either of these defenses to completely shut down the opposition. However, a mistake on which a defense can capitalize could decide it. The mistake-battle seems to favor Mahomes there, as he's thrown just six picks all season, while Brady has thrown 15—postseason included. While the Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills will tell you that kicking field goals alone isn't enough to best either of these teams, a field goal could be the difference here. Super Bowl Odds 2021: Opening Las Vegas Betting Lines for Chiefs vs. Buccaneers. National NBA Featured Columnist January 25, 2021 Comments Comment Bubble Icon. And then there were two. After a thrill ride of a 2020 NFL season and three wildly entertaining weeks of playoff action, only the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers remain in contention for Super Bowl LV. Consider it a gift from the football gods. On one side, you have the Chiefs, the defending champs quarterbacked by the electric Patrick Mahomes, 2018's MVP and the reigning Super Bowl MVP. On the other, you have the Buccaneers, a franchise reinvigorated by the offseason addition of the timeless Tom Brady, a six-time Super Bowl champ and three-time MVP. This could be a masterclass in quarterbacking, and the plot lines are almost equally enthralling beyond the marquee position. So what's our early read on the matchup? And what do oddsmakers expect to see? We'll answer all of those questions and more below. Super Bowl LV. Who: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When: Sunday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. ET. Where: Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. TV: CBS. Latest Line: Chiefs -3 (O/U 56), via DraftKings Sportsbook. How They Got Here. It took Kansas City five weeks of the regular season to suffer its first loss and another 12 to withstand its second, a game in which the AFC's top seed sat its regulars to keep fresh for the postseason. This is an absurdly dominant team, in other words, as the Buffalo Bills can surely attest. They found themselves on the wrong side of Sunday's AFC Championship Game, in which the Chiefs took a 21-12 lead in to intermission and led by as many as 23 points before cruising to a 38-24 triumph. Mahomes was his usual, magical self, completing 29 of his 38 passes for 325 yards and three scores. Of those attempts, 26 were thrown in the direction of Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, who combined to record 22 receptions for 290 yards and two scores. As for Tampa Bay, which hadn't secured a playoff spot since the 2007 season, it followed Brady's lead to one of the most successful campaigns in franchise history. The Bucs' 11 regular-season wins tied for their second-most all time, and their plus-137 scoring differential (fourth-best in the NFL) also took the silver medal in the organization's annals. The Bucs' passing game grabbed the marquee, which is no surprise given Brady's pedigree and their wealth of pass-catching weaponry, including Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown and longtime Brady favorite Rob Gronkowski. But the rushing game also popped through both Ronald Jones II and Leonard Fournette, and the defense caused all kinds of havoc with 48 sacks (tied for fourth-most) and 15 interceptions (tied for seventh). All elements were on display during their 31-26 takedown of the Green Bay Packers in Sunday's NFC Championship Game. Brady passed for 280 yards and three scores, Godwin cleared 100 receiving yards, Evans snagged a touchdown catch, Fournette rushed for a touchdown and the defense sacked Aaron Rodgers five times and intercepted him once. "Tom is the GOAT," Bucs receiver Scotty Miller told reporters. "Last year, we ended 7-9. This year, we're going to the Super Bowl. He's the biggest reason." What to Expect. The Bucs and Chiefs locked horns once this season, and if that Week 12 contest were any indication, football fans are in for a treat Feb. 7. Kansas City left Raymond James Stadium with a 27-24 win, but not before Tampa Bay made it sweat with a furious second-half comeback. The Chiefs had a 17-0 lead after the first, took a 20-7 advantage into halftime and led 27-10 after three quarters. But a pair of touchdown strikes from Brady to Evans narrowed the gap to just three points with more than four minutes remaining before the Chiefs picked up three first downs to kill the clock. What does that contest mean for this matchup? Probably nothing—other than the fact that this has all-time classic potential. Too much time has passed for it to hold any relevance, and as the playoffs have shown, each team is riding a wave of positive momentum into this championship bout. What could decide this contest? Where do we begin? Can Tampa's pass-rushers get to Mahomes without needing extra help so that it can blanket the back end with downfield defenders? Can Kansas City's secondary limit the big plays that Tampa's vertical passing attack is built around? Will either ground game be much of a factor? Which quarterback will make a costly mistake, and how much can the other make him pay? So where should your wagering money go? Well, that's up to you. But if the experts have this pegged correctly, it's hard to go away from Mahomes—yes, even harder than it is to go against Brady on a stage he knows better than anyone. A dozen ESPN experts made early predictions, and 10 went with the Chiefs. The over/under might be worth more of your gambling attention, though. Neither defense is spectacular, and each offense obviously is. Besides, an over bet means cheering for scoring, and is there a better way to enjoy a championship showdown for which 30 fanbases don't have a rooting interest? Banking on Mahomes and Brady to create fireworks seems like the optimal use of your funds.
NFL Futures Betting Odds. Super Bowl 55 Odds. Similar to other Super Bowls, the betting pattern makes sense as many don't believe the point-spread will matter. The theory is lay the points with KC or expect Tampa to win outright since a 1, 2 or 3-point margin is unlikely. Super Bowl 55 Most Valuable Player Odds. Wagering on the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Super Bowl is always one of the most popular wagers and some of the returns are very generous. This award has long been dominated by quarterbacks and rightfully so. Of the previous 54 winners (SB XII had co-MVP's), 30 of them have come from the quarterback position. As the guys who touch the ball the most, they've tended to have the most impact on the game, so it's easy to see why the award is dominated by the position. To no surprise, Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady are this year’s favorites to win the Super Bowl 55 MVP. After the two signal callers, a pair of playmakers for Kansas City in wide receiver Tyreke Hill and tight end Travis Kelce followed the pair on the betting board. Contenders - Odds Comparison. Be sure to check out all Super Bowl 55 MVP Odds for available players on both the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Super Bowl 55 Over-Under Total Odds. Along with money-line and point-spread wagers, the Over-Under or Total will be one of the most popular bets for Super Bowl 55. For this matchup between the Chefs and Buccaneers, points are expected with an over-under of 56.5. Based on the numbers below, the second and fourth quarters are expected to see action in Super Bowl 55. Super Bowl 55 Novelty Prop Odds. The Super Bowl has become one of the biggest events to wager on, which opens up unique markets such as novelty prop betting. There are hundreds of props available to bet on for Super Bowl LV. From the color of Gatorade being dumped onto the head coach to the coin toss, there are various props associated with the Super Bowl's novelty market. Odds To Win Super Bowl LVI (2/6/22) The sportsbook at BetMGM has released odds for Super Bowl LVI, which will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on February 6, 2022. The Kansas City Chiefs will look to make their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance next season, as they are favored at 6/1 odds to win the 2021 title. The Green Bay Packers , in spite of losing the NFC championship to Tampa Bay, are right behind the Chiefs as the second favorite to capture the Super Bowl title in southern California at 9/1 odds. Recently, the Los Angeles Rams were adjusted from an open of 20/1 to 12/1 after the team acquired quarterback Matthew Stafford from the Detroit Lions. The Rams are one of four teams listed at 12/1 odds to win Super Bowl 56, which will be played at the same venue that Los Angeles plays its regular season games. Other NFL Futures: Win Totals Odds Game of the Year Odds Playoff Prop MVP Rookie Draft. How to Bet on NFL Futures. Where to Bet: Colorado Illinois Indiana Michigan New Jersey Pennsylvania All States. Who’s going to win the Super Bowl ? One of the most popular questions often asked by anybody and everybody that bets on NFL Futures, especially online bettors from the United States. Answering that question isn’t easy but placing wagers on NFL Future odds can be done on “Any Given Sunday” and every other day too. Put simply, the Futures market for the NFL is always open. The opening market is set by oddsmakers after the following season has ended in February, sometimes even while the current season hasn’t been completed yet in late January. For the most part, the initial betting lines are mirrored based on what the current perception of the team is after the latest season and that’s where the value can be had. The NFL has 32 teams, split into two conferences of 16 and then divided into four divisions of four. NFL Futures are available to win not only the Super Bowl, but also the winner of each conference and the eight divisions as well. Some online betting shops get even more creative with their markets and allow bettors an opportunity of which two teams will meet in the Super Bowl. Those odds are usually higher and bettors can strike a generous return but predicting one outcome isn’t easy, so imagine doing so twice. Super Bowl Odds. The pro football finale usually takes place on the first Sunday in February and the outcome of that game is tied into plenty of Futures Odds tickets, in particular bets placed on Super Bowl Odds. The most popular futures betting market is focused on the Super Bowl and the final outcome boosts the handle for the Super Bowl, since future tickets are made official after the last game. After the opening odds are posted in late January or early February, the Super Bowl Odds market tends to be stable until the spring or second quarter of the year. During the time, the NFL produces the NFL Draft where top College Football players are selected by teams. While it’s rare to see youngsters make an immediate impact on teams, the optimism from fans can lead to future bets. Along with the draft, the NFL Free Agency period begins and that allows players to join other teams with new contracts. These transactions are very volatile on the Super Bowl Odds market and bettors often place wagers on clubs, especially if they acquire a top position player like a quarterback. After the spring and summer, the largest volume of Super Bowl Odds tickets take place in August just prior to the regular season. At this time, most bettors have done their homework on rosters, coaches, schedules, etc. That betting research is essential in your NFL Future wagers analysis. Betting on Super Bowl Odds. How to beat the bookies by turning their odds against them. Matthew Lloyd/Bloomberg via Getty Images. Fancy a flutter? The chances of making a profit by betting on football matches are extremely low, but a trio of researchers has managed to beat the odds with a simple formula. Mathematicians had already developed bookie-beating models that attempt to predict the outcome of sports matches, but they are difficult to devise and don’t always perform consistently. Lisandro Kaunitz at the University of Tokyo and his colleagues wanted to know if a more direct approach would work: using the bookmakers’ own odds against them. The team studied 10 years’ worth of data on nearly half a million football matches and the associated odds offered by 32 bookmakers between January 2005 and June 2015. For every game, they looked for odds that might yield a better return than the average offered by bookies – say, 5 to 1 versus a mean of 2 to 1. Advertisement. “Using the odds that are published, you can get a very good estimate of an event occurring,” says team member Javier Kreiner, a data scientist at transport start-up CargoX in São Paulo, Brazil. “What’s the probability of Barcelona winning against Real Madrid, for example.” Mean odds of 2 to 1 suggest the bookies collectively think this reflects fair odds for that outcome. But 5 to 1 offers higher returns should the outcome materialise. The team used the historical data to work out the optimal distance from the mean odds – the one that would give a positive payout for the largest number of games. When they applied their strategy in a simulation, they made a return of 3.5 per cent. Making bets randomly resulted in a loss of 3.32 per cent. Into real time. And they were winning. After five months the team had made a profit of $957.50 – a return of 8.5 per cent. There were some administrative costs, such as the expense of running servers to keep track of the odds in real time. But Kaunitz and his wife did get to splash out on a nice dinner in Tokyo, he says. “We were excited but it’s worth mentioning – you need to spend a lot of time to do it.” But their streak was cut short. Following a series of several small wins, the trio were surprised to find that their accounts had been limited, restricting how much they could bet to as little as $1.25. A spokesman for William Hill, one of the bookmakers used by the team, said betting is sometimes restricted “in a small number of cases”. “This can be for a number of reasons, including bonus abuse and taking proportionately more than their fair share of special offers and enhanced prices, which are designed for the many rather than a few,” he says. The gambling industry has long restricted players who appear to show an edge over the house, says Mark Griffiths at Nottingham Trent University, UK. A classic example is card-counting, which can help players win at blackjack. Casinos are quick to expel those who try it and it is sometimes flagged as cheating. But it’s not illegal in the US or the UK. Trapping bots. Griffiths compares the team’s approach to card-counting. “It’s not cheating at all – it’s using mathematics to try and beat a particular system,” he says. Online bookmakers have very tight profit margins, so some offer generous odds for very short periods of time on certain matches to lure automated or expert betting systems out into the open, says economist David Forrest at the University of Liverpool, UK. “They will try to trap the robots,” he says. “Anyone who responds has their account closed.” Some of the researchers’ accounts may have fallen foul of this system. In some cases they found they could not bet at all after signing up with certain bookies. If so, then this suggests their technique really was finding the best odds out there. But the house still always wins in the end.

If you bet on sporting events, you must be able to read odds and understand what they mean. Furthermore, you need to quickly calculate the potential winnings for different bets, especially if the odds are changing while the event unfolds. Odds tell you the likelihood that an event will occur (a team wins, a boxer makes it a certain round) and how much will be paid out if you win. There are, however, multiple ways to convey this information.
The Secret Betting Strategy That Beats Online Bookmakers. If you’ve ever been tempted by a flutter, you’ll know how bookmakers and casinos stack the odds against you. The clearest example is roulette, where there are 36 red and black numbers plus the green numbers 0 and (in the U.S.) 00. So that’s 38 possibilities in total. When betting on red or black, the odds of choosing correctly are 18/38, and a fair payout for a $1 stake is $2.111. However, the house pays only $2 and keeps the difference. In that way, it guarantees itself a profit. A similar bias occurs in bookmakers’ odds on horse races, soccer, and every other sporting event. The bookies always ensure that the odds are in their favor. But setting these odds is harder than those for roulette because the calculations are trickier. And that raises a tantalizing possibility. Is it possible to come up with a better way to calculate the odds, and thus beat the bookies? Today we get an answer thanks to the work of Lisandro Kaunitz at the University of Tokyo and a few pals, who have found a way to consistently make money from the online betting market for soccer. But their work comes with a serious caveat. Kaunitz and co say that as soon as the bookies became aware of this success, they prevented the researchers from betting further. Gamblers have long toyed with schemes to beat the odds, but success is rare. That’s because bookmakers work hard to calculate accurate odds. They typically employ teams of statisticians to study historical data for a sport like soccer and then develop sophisticated models to determine the appropriate odds for each game. Kaunitz and co say that as far as they know, nobody has been able to beat this system by developing superior statistical models. But despite this sophisticated approach, there is a weakness in the way bookmakers work. It has to do with the way they hedge their bets to protect against the possibility of large payouts. For example, when two teams play a game of soccer, the bookmakers set odds of each team recording a win, loss, or draw. Sometimes large numbers of people can bet on a particular outcome for reasons that are unrelated to the odds—that team might be more popular than expected, for example. In that case, the bookmaker is set for a large payout if that outcome occurs. So bookmakers can hedge their bets by offering more favorable odds on the opposite outcome. In this way, they attract bets that cover at least some of the potential losses. Kaunitz and co say this process also creates an opportunity for anybody able to spot it. The trick that the researchers have perfected is to devise a method that consistently spots odds favoring the punter rather than the bookie. Their method is straightforward. They start by assuming that bookies themselves are good at setting odds and that the prices they offer are an accurate reflection of the real probabilities of a win, draw, or loss, plus their own margin. In that case, a good measure of these probabilities is a simple average of the odds offered by all the bookies—a kind of wisdom of the crowd. This gives the average odds, which Kaunitz and co say is a remarkably accurate reflection of the real probabilities. Then it is a simple matter to analyze all the odds being offered and to find the outliers. Kaunitz and co next work out how favorable the outlying odds are. If they are good enough, then the bet should pay off, at least in the long run. And that’s exactly what Kaunitz and co have done. They built a Web crawler that gathered the odds offered by online betting companies on soccer games around the world. They calculated the average odds, found any outliers, and then worked out whether a bet would favor them or not. Before committing any real money, the researchers tested the idea on 10 years of historical data on the closing odds and results of 479,440 soccer games played between 2005 and 2015. This simulation paid out 44 percent of the time and delivered a yield of 3.5 percent over the 10-year period. “For an imaginary stake of $50 per bet, this corresponds to an equivalent profit of $98,865 across 56,435 bets,” they say. An important question is whether this result could have been pure chance. Could they simply have got lucky? So the team compared their results to 2,000 simulations in which they placed bets randomly on the same games. In that case, the bets paid out 39 percent of time at a return of -3.2 percent, which is equivalent to loss of $93,000. That allowed the team to calculate the likelihood that their first result was a fluke. “The probability of obtaining a return greater than or equal to $98,865 in 56,435 bets using a random bet strategy is less than 1 in a billion,” they say. That gave Kaunitz and co good reason to think their method would work in the real world, but there was a problem. Ordinary punters cannot always bet on closing odds, which can vary significantly from the odds given in the run-up to a game. So Kaunitz and co decided to simulate this, too. “We decided to conduct a more realistic simulation in which we placed bets at odds available from 1 to 5 hours before the beginning of each game,” they say. The way odds vary in the run-up to games is not publicly available, so the team created a bot that collected these odds from betting websites around the world from September 2015 to the end of February 2016. Then they tested their approach in this data set. The results were even better. Their bets paid off 47.6 percent of the time and yielded a 9.9 percent return. “If every bet placed was $50, our strategy would have generated $34,932 in profit across 6,994 bets,” they say. Curiously, a random betting strategy on the same data yielded a return of 0.2 percent and a profit of $825. That could be the result of the intense competition between online betting companies that sometimes offer more favorable odds to attract punters in a kind loss-leader policy. Next, the team tried the approach using a strategy known as “paper trading,” in which they place fictitious bets using real-time data rather than historical data. This is important because it allows them to check whether the quoted odds are actually available with an online bookmaker. Indeed, they discovered that about 30 percent of the time, the odds had changed by the time they attempted to check online. In those cases, they discarded the bet. But the strategy was still profitable. After three months of paper trading, their bets retuned a profit of 5.5 percent, earning $1,128.50 on 407 bets of $50. “At this point we decided to place bets with real money,” say Kaunitz and co. So they repeated their approach over five months, using the same procedure, except that a human operator would actually place a $50 bet online after checking the odds. During that period, their bets paid off 47.2 percent of the time, and they made a profit of $957.50 over 265 bets. That’s an impressive return of 8.5 percent. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that the number of bets they placed was significantly less than during the paper trading period. “The reason for this is that we did not have a dedicated operator betting on all available opportunities 24 hours a day and as a result we missed many of the bets that appeared,” they say. But the smaller number of bets didn’t matter. “Our paper trading and actual betting activity confirmed the profitability of the strategy,” say Kaunitz and co. That’s a clever approach and a fascinating result. Kaunitz and co found an Achilles’ heel in the betting industry and exploited it for their own profit. But their story comes with a sting. “Although we played according to the sports betting industry rules, a few months after we began to place bets with actual money bookmakers started to severely limit our accounts,” say the team. The bookies often limited the stakes they could bet or suggested a “manual inspection” of the bet before accepting it. In those circumstances, the team couldn’t make their bets. If the bookies were choosing the bets to question at random, it shouldn’t have had any effect on the profitability of the strategy. But Kaunitz and co say this was unlikely and that the bookmakers’ actions could have severely affected them. “Under these circumstances we could not continue with our betting strategy,” they say. Kaunitz and co are clearly unhappy: “The sports betting industry has the freedom to publicize and offer odds to their clients, but those clients are expected to lose and, if they are successful, they can be restricted from betting.” The team points out that this kind of practice could be illegal. “Advertising goods or services with intent not to sell them as advertised, or advertising goods or services with no intent to supply reasonably expectable demand but with the intention to lure the client to buy another product (a practice often called вЂbait’ or вЂbait and switch’ advertising), is considered false advertising and carries pecuniary penalties in the U.K., Australia, and the United States of America,” say the team. And they call on governments to properly regulate the gambling industry and to prevent this kind of practice in the future. Whether this will work is not clear. But their results are interesting nonetheless.
Michigan launches online sports betting, casino games Friday. FILE - In this March 11, 2020, file photo, patrons place in person bets during the launch of legalized sports betting in Michigan at the MGM Grand Detroit casino in Detroit. Online sports betting and casino games will start in Michigan at noon Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, an expansion of options for gamblers who now wager through offshore sites. State regulators have authorized licenses for all three Detroit casinos and seven of the dozen tribes with "Class III" casinos. Paul Sancya/AP. LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Online sports betting and casino games will start in Michigan at noon Friday, an expansion of options for gamblers who now wager through offshore sites. State regulators have authorized licenses for all three Detroit casinos and seven of the dozen tribes with “Class III” casinos. Additional operator and platform provider licenses are expected to be approved in coming weeks. Michigan Gaming Control Board Executive Director Richard Kalm this week called the launch a “new era,” saying it will give casinos an additional way to engage with customers and provide state and local governments with extra tax revenue. Large players in the U.S. mobile gambling market such as DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM are launching apps and enticing people age 21 and older with deals to sign up. Big sporting events this weekend including the AFC and NFC championship games and a UFC bout featuring start Conor McGregor. Sports and internet gambling were legalized under a law enacted more than a year ago, before the coronavirus pandemic struck. Casinos began accepting in-person sports wagers in March but had to wait for the creation of a licensing system for online operations, which have taken on increased significance amid state-ordered shutdowns or capacity restrictions at casinos to curb COVID-19. “It's clear to us that there's incredible demand among Michiganders for at least sports betting. But my expectation is that online casino and in due course poker will be equally popular,” said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt. His company's app — previously launched in 10 states — is connected to MGM Resorts, including the Detroit casino and hotel. Greenblatt said the state's 8.4% online sports betting tax is “very sensible,” allowing licensed operators to compete with offshore sites. “You've got a group of players who have long been betting offshore. We would like to see them bring their play back on shore,” he said. He said there will be minimal if any “cannibalization” of business from players who typically visit casinos but instead will play on the internet. “We see an expansion of the market — so new players coming in to enjoy our product,” Greenblatt said, adding that MGM, like other casinos, will incentivize online gamblers to redeem rewards points by visiting onsite. Casinos offering online games like blackjack will pay a tax of between 20% and 28%, depending on their amount of adjusted gross receipts. Net new annual revenues to the state and Detroit, which has commercial casinos, are projected to total $18.6 million and $13.7 million respectively, according to the Michigan Department of Treasury. The money will go to the state’s school aid fund, which covers public schools. It also will be earmarked to a state fund that compensates first responders for lost wages and medical benefits if they get cancer from fighting fires. Municipalities with tribal casinos will receive a portion of tax revenues, too. Noting of flurry of internet gambling and sports betting ads in recent weeks, state Attorney General Dana Nessel urged potential online gamblers to read the fine print before signing up. “In some instances, site users may be required to spend or deposit a certain amount of money into an account before receiving their free play credits, and users should make themselves aware of such conditions so they are not taken off guard," she said.

Nine Michigan casinos begin online sports betting and gaming this weekend. LANSING, Mich. (WJRT) - Online gambling and sports betting will be allowed in Michigan for the first time this weekend. The Michigan Gaming Control Board has authorized nine casinos in the state to begin online operations at noon Friday. The board is reviewing more applications and may authorize additional online gambling or betting options later. “Michigan residents love sports and, judging by inquiries we’ve received, eagerly anticipate using mobile devices to place bets through the commercial and tribal casinos,” said Gaming Control Board Executive Director Richard Kalm. “Online gaming and sports betting will provide the casinos with new ways to engage with customers while the state and local communities will benefit from taxes and payments on wagering revenue.” Michigan is collecting an 8.4% tax on sports betting and 20% to 28% tax on online gambling. Detroit’s casinos may have to pay an additional municipal services fee on top of that. The online gaming and betting revenue from Detroit casinos will be divided with 30% going to the city, 65% going to state funds and 5% going to the Michigan Agriculture Equine Industry Development Fund. A provision allows the city to collect a minimum of $183 million per year. For tribal casinos, 90% of payments to the state from online sports betting will go to a state fund and 10% will go to the Michigan Strategic Fund, which is used for economic development projects. State online gaming revenue will be split with 20% going to local municipalities, 70% to a state fund and 10% to the Michigan Strategic Fund. The state’s share of online gaming and betting revenue will help pay for Michigan Gaming Control Board operations, the Compulsive Gambling Prevention Fund, First Responder Presumed Coverage Fund and school funding. The nine casinos approved for online gambling and sports betting on Friday are: “We want the public to have confidence when they place wagers, and our agency has required the providers to prove they meet Michigan’s standards, which are designed to protect the participants,” Kalm said. E-Sports, Sports Betting and Online Casino Trends to Look Forward to in 2021. Gambling. By Joe Newberry February 2, 2021 6:04 pm. By Joe Newberry | February 2, 2021 6:04 pm. 2021 is before us, and several persons don’t know what to anticipate after 2020. Whether in sports, politics, or society, we cannot help but wonder what will change and stay the same. One of the substitutes that sports fans turned to during lockdown was gaming. For those who enjoy a wager, the world of casino games was a particular draw, offering both a distraction and that excitement of placing a bet of different type . For online casinos, we have insight into how 2021 will pan out and what events will take the forefront in the industry. From gambling habits to payment for games, several trends are set to take the stage. Let us consider five of such trends. Trend 1: Mobile Gambling. Mobile gambling is not new to an online casino, especially as smartphones continued to gain popularity. Although many people already use mobile phones to carry out their gambling activities, we expect more widespread use. As of 2019, about 50% of people used their phones for gambling. This figure is bound to increase in 2021 after the coronavirus lockdown led people to depend on their mobile phones to play casino and other games online. Suffice to say that many people must have discovered how secure and easy it is to gamble on their mobile phones. We expect that even if restrictions ease and physical casinos open up, many persons will ditch physical casinos for their online counterparts. Trend 2: Using Cryptocurrency as a payment method. Jan 26, 2020; Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA; Chris Simp Lehr of the Atlanta FaZe competes against the New York Subliners during the Call of Duty League Launch Weekend at The Armory. Mandatory Credit: Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports. We know that crypto is fast becoming a method of payment in many industries at the moment. The casino industry is not doing anything outside the norm by joining the growing list of people embracing cryptocurrency as a payment form. A few years ago, many gamblers couldn’t wrap their heads around how it worked; so many online casinos were hesitant to try crypto. With a lot of exposure to this currency, we expect that in 2021, many online casinos will accept cryptocurrency as payment for gambling. Several casinos already offer bonuses to gamblers who use crypto. Trend 3: Stiffer Competition. Online casinos should prepare for serious competition in 2021, as many new online casinos will flood the market. The ease of setting up new casinos using white labels and the profitability of the industry will make people set up casinos. With hopes that the COVID-19 pandemic will wear off in 2021 , many people will be excited to jump into gambling after a long break. Many people will celebrate the increasing numbers of new online casinos, especially because of the variety they offer. However, finding an online gambling site is a careful process. Find out what casinos are registered, approved, and legitimate before putting in your money. Trend 4: Electronic Sports Betting. The e-sport betting industry is growing fast, even as general sports betting has been famous for a long time. Many online casinos are making e-sports begging a part of their website, and this will continue throughout the year. With the new trend, you won’t only bet on traditional sports, but new sports and events will join the list soon. We expect football, horse racing, and other sports to continue as the most popular sports for gamblers. However, we will also see other professional games and tournaments taking the forefront in online casinos. Gambling licenses are a must-have for legit and approved online casinos , and careful gamblers should always check a casino’s gambling license before putting in their money. The gambling license is a guarantee for gamblers that their deposits and withdrawal options are safe and free of errors. The license also assures you that the game will be fair. If you have not been paying attention to gambling licenses, read through the rest of this post and discover more about gambling licenses, their functions, and what laws back them. First of all, gaming licenses are compulsory for every legitimate casino. They get these licenses from their regulatory bodies or gaming commissions. The requirements for getting licenses to change from one jurisdiction to the next. The rules are made by the gaming commissions that decide what requirements are necessary for an online casino to gain legitimacy. The rules and regulations from these gaming commissions guide the actions of everyone connected to a gambling company. These rules tie the partners, staff, employees, and everyone connected to the company. Such rules span through activities like auditing, accounting, and other activities carried out in the firm. What are the Jurisdictions concerned with gaming licenses? Most of the gambling commissions in the world engage in multiple jurisdictions approaches for their registration. Look out for several jurisdictions that online casinos follow when applying for their licenses. Antigua and Barbuda’s Gaming Jurisdiction. When acquiring a license on both the Caribbean islands of Antigua and Barbuda , online casinos need to get approval from the Financial Services Commission as well as its branch, which is the gambling department. This country offered offshore licenses to online gambling companies, and they have been doing this since 1994. Owners of primary servers in this country pay $75,000 every year and pay 3% taxes from their net winnings. Interactive gaming and online gambling companies pay $75,000 and $100,000 respectively every year. Curacao’s Gaming Commission. Curacao began giving out gaming licenses in 1996. So far, they are one of the most reliable license providers. This famous regulatory body has the same license for sports betting, luck games, and skill games. The Gaming Commission in Malta. In 2000, the republic of Malta got its laws for a state lottery and began handing out licenses to online gambling companies. The lottery and gambling department must set all the rules and regulations for all remote gambling companies. Conclusion. Online casinos and casino gamblers have several positive things to look forward to in 2021. There are hopes that the coronavirus pandemic will ease off and give way to a more active casino season. But whether or not this happens, you can expect these trends to take place. Preparation is important so that you can make the best of these trends for the year and enjoy online casinos all the more!
Texas Holdem. Texas Holdem, sometimes referred to simply as Holdem, is a community card poker betting game with multiple betting rounds leading up to a showdown, in which the player with the best 5-card poker hand is awarded the pot. Websites with Texas Holdem poker games usually offer different tables for different betting structures, such as Pot Limit, Fixed Limit and No Limit. Betting on Texas Holdem games at online poker sites involves several different stake levels to accommodate different playing styles and bankrolls, with micro-stakes as low as $0.05 / $0.10 up to high stakes exceeding $500 / $1,000. Texas Holdem is largely a game of skill, with significant elements of luck mixed in. Players can demonstrate their Texas Holdem skill at poker betting sites by strategically betting, reading opponent tells, bluffing and quickly calculating odds and probabilities. In order to get started with Texas Holdem betting, it’s important to understand the basic rules and strategies involved. Best Poker Sites For Texas Holdem Betting. 18+, T&Cs apply, and Gamble Responsibly (BeGambleAware). How To Bet On Texas Holdem Poker Games. In order to bet on Texas Holdem games, you’ll need to follow some simple poker betting rules designed to maximize fairness and competition among players. The following is a list of steps used to play Texas Holdem at an online Texas Holdem betting site. The rules will be nearly identical for Texas Holdem games hosted at live casinos or home games. The two players to the left of the dealer begin the hand by paying the blinds. The dealer immediately to the left of the dealer pays the small blind, while the next adjacent player posts the big blind. In a $2 / $4 game, for example, the small blind is $2 while the big blind is $4. Players will take turns acting from the dealer’s position, as a dealer button will travel around the table in a clockwise fashion with each hand. Each player receives two cards facedown, starting with the player who posted the small blind. These cards are known as hole cards. Players look at their own hole cards, and the first round of betting begins with the player to left of the big blind. Players can fold, call or raise, and each player gets a chance to make a betting decision in clockwise order. After the first betting round, the dealer places a burn card facedown on the table. This card is effectively discarded. Next, the dealer delivers the flop face-up on the table. The flop contains 3 community cards which are visible to all players. Another betting round occurs, followed by another burn card and the turn. The turn consists of 1 community card placed face-up. A third betting round occurs, followed by a burn card and the river. The river is the final community card. A final round of betting occurs. All remaining players take part in the showdown, in which the pot is awarded to the player with the best hand. Texas Holdem Rules. Players can make a few different betting decisions in a game of Texas Holdem, including check, call, raise and fold. When you fold, you discard your hole cards and eliminate yourself from the hand. At this point, you’ll lose all of the money that you’ve contributed to the pot so far, including the blinds (if you posted them). However, you won’t be required to pay any additional money into the pot. Folding is essentially cutting your losses, preserving your bankroll and waiting for the next hand. When you raise, you’re matching the previous player’s wager and adding a wager of your own. For example, if the previous player wagered $5 and you raise by $10, you’ll place $15 in the pot and the next player will be required to do the same to stay in the hand. When you call, you match the previous player’s wager, but you don’t raise. For example, the previous player might put $7 into the pot. You could call by also placing $7 in the pot. A check is similar to a call, except that it doesn’t require you to bet any money at all. You can only check when there hasn’t already been a raise or a bet. A “bet” is simply the first raise of the hand. Hand Rankings. In Texas Holdem, the goal is to create the best possible five card poker hand using some combination of your two hole cards and the five available community cards. Since this adds up to a total of seven cards, two of the cards will not be used. Texas Holdem hands are ranked as follows, from best to worst: Royal Flush (Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10 suited) Straight Flush (five sequential suited cards) Four of a Kind (such as four Aces or four 5s) Full House (Three of a Kind plus a pair, such as three Kings and two 10s) Flush (five suited cards of any value, such as all Spades) Straight (five sequential cards of any suit) Three of a Kind (such as three Queens) Two Pair (such as two 6s and two 9s) One Pair (such as two Aces) High Card (such as an Ace or King) Game Variations. Within the game of Texas Holdem, there are three different betting structures, including No Limit, Pot Limit and Fixed Limit. In a No Limit Texas Holdem game, there are few restrictions on how much you can bet when it’s your turn to make a betting decision. The smallest bet you can make is the value of the big blind. For example, in a $3 / $6 No Limit Holdem game, the lowest possible bet would be $6. The maximum bet is simply the number of chips you possess. When a player declares he’s going “all-in,” it means he’s wagering the maximum value – his whole stack of chips. After the initial bet, the lowest possible raise is the value of the bet. Although No Limit Texas Holdem is the most popular betting structure used for this game type, Fixed Limit Texas Holdem is quite popular as well. With this Texas Holdem variation, players are not allowed to bet whatever value they wish. Instead, they must wager in increments according to predetermined rules. For example, in a $6 / $12 game, the blind would be $3 and $6. The large bet would be $12, while the small bet is $6. Fixed Limit Holdem games usually have a betting cap, meaning that only a certain number of raises will be allowed per betting round. Pot Limit Texas Holdem is actually quite similar to No Limit. The minimum bet is equal to the value of the big blind. The maximum bet is the amount currently in the pot. In this way, the pot can’t grow by more than 100% of its current size from one bet to the next. Texas Holdem games are also divided into two main categories: cash games and tournaments. A cash game, also known as a ring game, consists of a table with 2 to 10 seats. Players can enter and leave the table at will, buying into the game for a predetermined fee which equals the chips they’ll start with. The game progresses indefinitely, and players who lose their chips can buy more chips to re-enter the game. Texas Holdem tournaments can involve several tables playing simultaneously. In a tournament, the winner of each table (the person who wins all of the chips) moves on to a new table to compete against the winners of other Round 1 tables. In most tournaments, a player who loses all of his chips is eliminated permanently from the tournament. Play continues until only one player remains. The top players are usually paid according to a predetermined prize schedule. Basic Strategy. Texas Holdem betting strategy can become very complicated very quickly, with several influential factors such as odds, tells, player emotions, bluffing, bankroll management and more. However, successful, long-term Texas Holdem play largely comes down to one key concept: tight-aggressive play. In essence, tight-aggressive play means folding your weak hands and waiting for premium hands. When a premium set of hole cards does come your way, you must pursue it aggressively and raise heavily. This will allow you to maximize your profits by seizing a rare opportunity, while minimizing your losses from unlucky hole cards. Tight aggressive play allows for quick poker decisions and minimal emotional effect, also known as tilt.
Texas Hold’em 101. An introduction to Texas Hold’em. There are multiple card games available to play, but by far the most popular one is Texas Hold’em. Whether you have played it or not, chances are you have probably heard of it. It can be seen on TV, online, in poker rooms, and in pretty much every casino. It is a fun and challenging game, one that does not take much time to learn, but can never be perfected. Even the best players in the world make mistakes from time to time. If you have never played the game of hold’em before, this article should be very helpful to you, as it will cover all of the basics. Let’s start off with the simplest of things, the deck. Every card deck has 52 cards, with four suits of 13 cards each. In Texas Hold’em, only one deck is used during play. The decks are changed periodically throughout the game, but only one deck is used at a time. Starting Hands. The chart below illustrates the percentage chance of winning a hand based on starting cards. As you can see AA is the strongest starting hand in poker, followed by KK, QQ, JJ, 10 10, etc. Hand Rankings. Royal flush – A, K, Q, J, 10 , all the same suit. Straight flush – Five cards in a sequence, all in the same suit. 5d 6d 7d 8d 9d Four of a kind – All four cards of the same rank. 4 4 4 4 9 Full house – Three of a kind with a pair. 7 7 7 2 2 Flush – Any five cards of the same suit but are not in a sequence. 3h 8h Jh 4h Qh Straight – Five cards in a sequence but are not of the same suit. 2 3 4 5 6 Three of a kind – Three cards of the same rank. 9 9 9 5 2 Two pair – Two different pairs. J J 6 6 4 Pair – Two cards of the same rank. A A 5 6 K High Card – When you haven’t made any of the hands above, the highest card plays. K 2 4 9 8. Positions. Position in poker refers to where a player is sitting in reference to other players. The dealer is where the button is placed, this is the best position at the table since you will be last to act after the flop comes out. This allows you to see what everyone does before making a decision. When you are on the button, assuming the action is light, you are able to open up your opening range of hands. Position is very important in poker, as it plays a part in your decision making, Next to the dealer (left of the dealer) is small blind. This is the player who will post the first ante which is half of the big blind. Let’s say you are playing on a $1/$2 no limit hold’em table, the small blind is $1. You have to pay that dollar whether you like your hand or not. If you choose to fold without seeing a flop (we will get there soon), you lose your dollar. Small blind is the second to last person to make a decision pre-flop, but the first to make the decision after a flop (this is assuming there are no raises). Left of the of small blind is the big blind who is automatically forced to post the big blind even before seeing his hand. In $1/$2 stakes, he is automatically in for the $2 and will have the option to check (assuming nobody raises), raise, or fold (if someone raises and the big blind does not like his hand). Regardless of the decision, the player must invest the big blind in that hand. Big blind is the last person to make a decision pre-flop, but the second to make the decision after a flop (this is assuming there are no raises and small blind is still in the hand). Left of the big blind is under the gun. This will be the first player to act pre-flop and will not be invested in this pot before the hand is dealt. He or she will have the option to call, fold, or raise. Normally you want to play strong hands from an early position like this one because all other players on the table are still left to act. The closer you are to the blinds is considered early position and the closer you are to the button is consider late position. A player in the best position will always be the player last to act in a hand. Pre-Flop. Every player gets dealt two cards face down, called the hole cards. Under the gun will be the first to act as explained above, he/she will have the option to call the big blind, raise, or fold at no cost. This action will continue across the table until betting has stopped and then we get a flop. The Flop. Once all the pre-flop betting has stopped, the dealer will take the top card on the deck and will place it in the un-dealt cards pile called the burn. He then will flop three cards face up in the center of the table. This will be the first of five community cards to come out. After the flop, the play begins from the left and continues until each player has checked, folded, or bet, and the latest bet is called. The Turn. The turn of fourth street as some refer to it is the fourth community card that is dealt face up. The dealer burns the top card on the deck, then deals the following card face up. Once again, the play begins from the left and continues until each player has checked, folded, or bet, and the latest bet is called. The River. The last community card dealt is the river, also known as fifth street. Once again, the dealer burns one card and deals one face up in the center of the table. Now there are five community cards and the remaining players have their two hole card in hand. The action will once again begin from the left and continues until each player has checked, folded, or bet, and the latest bet is called. Showdown. A showdown occurs when more than one player remains after the last betting round, remaining players expose and compare their hands to determine the winner. This can also occur in any street before the river if a player has bet all of his chips and gets called. Parting Thoughts. You should now have a basic understanding on the game of poker. Legally Betting on the 2021 Olympics. It may be hard to believe– especially with the growth of legalized sports betting throughout the United States– but even Nevada sportsbooks were not authorized to accept action on events sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee until the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro. A lot has changed since that decision. Today, legal Olympic sports betting has become more universally available inside and outside the Las Vegas city limits. So while the Olympics are a huge cultural, physical, and patriotic achievement for those competing, spectators also have a shot at winning in their own right. Due to the rise of legal sports gambling in the United States, bettors can safely wager on the odds and win big along with their favorite athletes. Online sportsbooks are not the only option as domestic sportsbook gambling is becoming more mainstream. Throughout almost every legislative cycle, more and more states in the USA are introducing or passing sports betting laws. With the Summer and Winter Olympics being in 2020 and 2022, respectively, it is likely that even more states will offer legal domestic sports betting before the torch is lit in each year’s ceremony. In most cases, strategies for legally betting on the Olympics are no different than betting strategies for other sports events. You certainly have the best chance of interpreting the odds if you understand how the game works. Keep your patriotism and loyalty out of the wager: don't bet on the athletes or nations you personally connect with as a fan. Rather, place your bets on the athlete that has the best shot at winning the event. Apply conservative bankroll management: There is no such thing as a sure bet - ask any casual or professional sports bettor. With this in mind, only risk money you can afford to lose and when you win, apply a predetermined amount of your winnings back into your bankroll to support your betting entertainment. Olympic Betting Odds. The Summer Olympics are a sports bettor’s dream come true. The major sporting event, officially called the Games of the XXXII Olympiad, was originally scheduled to be from July 24, 2020, to August 9, 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Olympic Games were postponed. The date of the Summer Games was pushed back a year and will now take place July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan. With its Summer Games bid awarded in 2013, Japan has had plenty of time to prepare its venues for the 339 events across 50 disciplines that the Olympics brings to the table. With 11,091 athletes representing an expected 206 nations, 2021 is projected to be the biggest Olympic Games in history. While such unprecedented participation and so many events promise to make the Summer Olympics very interesting for sports fans, it should prove even more popular with sports bettors across the world. America, in particular, is projected to turn a record handle, though most of that will be dealt to overseas sportsbooks. That said, with more retail brick-and-mortar and domestic online options available in the US than ever before, the Games will be a great opportunity for such books to show off their international bookmaking chops. With tens of thousands of wagers spread out across the huge sporting celebration, savvy bettors will be able to bet on anything they can imagine. That, of course, includes some brand-new disciplines making their Summer Olympics debuts in Tokyo. Scheduled for the Games are several variants that fall in line with more general, common categories typically on offer. Freestyle BMX, madison cycling, 3X3 basketball, karate, skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing, and a large selection of mixed events will be on hand. Additionally, baseball and softball -- removed from the Summer Games slate in 2008 -- are returning to the lineup and should prove quite desirable on the odds boards, particularly among more casual American bettors. How To Read And Understand Olympic Odds. Olympic Odds at most sportsbooks will be presented in one of three ways: American (moneyline), British (fractional), or European (decimal). Most books catering to US customers will use regular moneyline odds, but you will definitely come across fractional odds as well. Decimal odds tend to be fairly rare, but it’s considered a sports betting best practice to understand all three varieties. All odds work the same general way as the US moneyline, in that they all show the payout amounts. With British odds, you’re shown the wager’s payout ratio as a fraction. For example, if the Jamaican 100-meter relay team is on the boards at 2/5 odds, it means that a wager on the club would pay out $2 for every $5 wagered. A sub-1 fraction denotes a favorite, while a fraction greater than 1 denotes an underdog. A fractional underdog might have odds of 5/1, meaning that $5 is won on a $1 bet. As long as you remember that the numerator (the first number in the fraction) shows the amount to be won while the denominator (the second number) shows the amount wagered for said winnings, you can easily read and understand British odds. You will almost certainly come across fractional odds during your Olympics betting activities. European decimal odds are rare on most betting boards if you live in the US or the UK, but they’re reasonably simple to understand. Decimal odds already include your stake, so whatever the posted decimal is, you simply multiply your stake by that number to get your winnings. For example, if some team or individual has 3.0 odds to win, that means that a $1 bet would yield $3 (3.0 X $1) and that a $5 bet would yield $15 (3.0 X $5). Because your stake is included, odds that are between 1.001 and 1.999 show a favorite, while odds of 2.0 and greater indicate underdogs. If you plan on attending the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, you will find a ton of attractions to keep your attention between the games themselves. However, you will not find legal sports betting anywhere in the country, as gambling is generally not legal in Japan. Of course, if you’re in the US and simply plan on following the games on television or online, this is a non-issue. Both land-based casinos and legal offshore sportsbooks will have plenty of Tokyo 2021 action to choose from. Interestingly, legal Olympic betting is a new phenomenon in Nevada, with 2016’s Games being the first to have lines offered. With the newly-legalized sports wagering lounges peppered across the US now, of course, people will be extremely interested in betting on the Olympics, and you can expect these physical venues to have wide-ranging options. Of course, for the best options on the Olympics betting boards, you’ve got to use an offshore book. Sites like Bovada and SportsBetting have been hosting Olympics betting for going on 30 years now, and they’re better at the business than anyone else. If you want to maximize your chances to win during the Summer Games, overseas sportsbooks are definitely the way to go.

Madden’s Super Bowl prediction: Chiefs win. EA Sports’ simulation calls it for KC, 37-27. Share this story. Share this on Facebook Share this on Twitter. Share All sharing options for: Madden’s Super Bowl prediction: Chiefs win. All-everything QB Patrick Mahomes collects his second Super Bowl ring on Sunday, says Madden NFL 21 . Image: EA Tiburon/Electronic Arts. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will pull away from Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win their second straight Super Bowl, 37-27, says Madden NFL 21 ’s annual simulation. Get your bets down now! Although unscientific — to say the least — EA Sports’ simulation of the big game™️ has been remarkably accurate, or at least lucky, over the past 17 years. Madden called last year’s Chiefs triumph too, getting the point spread (KC -1.5) and straight-up winner, but again missing the over/under (53.5, and the final came in under). Madden typically bets the over, as is the wont of a high-scoring video game, after all. The Madden Sim is no Cray-crashing Next Gen Stats analysis — it’s some dudes in an office park in Florida running one (1) CPU-vs-CPU simulation on All-Pro/Simulation difficulty, 6 minute quarters, all sliders set to 50 — i.e., the ranked multiplayer parameters. Still, it kicks up some oddly specific predictions that we love highlighting. For example: Mahomes’ passing line: 422 yards, four touchdowns — that would be the third-most passing yards in a single game, and there have been six performances where a QB threw four or more touchdown passes. Brady’s passing line: 332 yards, three TDs, one interception. Strong totals, but not the Super Bowl’s greatest performance in a losing effort. Third quarter, quoting from EA Sports’ release directly: “Mahomes comes out hot in the second half with a 63-yard touchdown pass back to [Tyreek] Hill, who, according to NFL Next Gen Stats, hits a top speed of 22 mph.” News flash, everyone hits a top speed of 22 mph once they get into the secondary, including my created running back. The fourth quarter is closer than the final score suggests. Tight end Rob Gronkowski (one of four Madden NFL cover stars appearing in the Super Bowl, a record) lands a touchdown pass from good bud Brady to tie the score. Mahomes responds with a game-sealing drive and 12-yard scamper for the TD. The Chiefs tack on a late field goal, but even without it, they’re clear of the real-life point spread (Chiefs by 3). Lifetime, Madden is 11-6 against the spread, 8-9 against the O/U, and 11-6 calling the straight-up winner. A small sample size, but any Vegas tout worth his 1-900 number would be proud of that record.
Madden NFL 21 Simulation Picks Chiefs To Win Super Bowl LV. (CBS Local)- Super Bowl LV is just days away and with it, the predictions have begun to roll in. One of the yearly traditions is EA Sports’ Madden NFL franchise running a simulation of the game and this year, they’re predicting a repeat for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. In the game’s official simulation of this year’s matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs, Madden has the Chiefs winning 37-27 to take their second consecutive Lombardi Trophy. In the simulation, Mahomes gets the go ahead touchdown with his legs on a 12-yard fourth quarter scramble to put K.C. on top 34-27. The Chiefs quarterback took home the MVP award in the simulation, throwing for 422 yards and four touchdowns while completing 31 of his 41 passes. That was enough to outduel Tom Brady who completed 30 of his 44 pass attempts for 322 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. If the Chiefs were to win, it would be the second consecutive year in which Madden’s prediction was correct as last year’s simulation had the Chiefs topping the San Francisco 49ers to win Super Bowl LIV in Miami. However, prior to last year, the Madden sim had gotten two consecutive Super Bowls wrong, predicting the New England Patriots to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII and the Los Angeles Rams to beat the Patriots in Super Bowl LIII. Now, we wait to see if EA Sports’ official prediction is right.
Super Bowl LV: вЂMadden NFL 21’ simulation game picks Chiefs to repeat as champions. In the gaming world, the Kansas City Chiefs will be hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the second straight season. “Madden NFL 21,” EA Sports’ pro football simulation game, has the Chiefs defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37-27 in Super Bowl LV. EA Sports dropped its official trailer online Wednesday, and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won MVP honors for the second consecutive season. Mahomes scored the go-ahead touchdown with about six minutes left to play, scrambling out of trouble with a 12-yard run to break a 27-27 tie. Kansas City would kick a late field goal to ice the game. The Madden simulation got last year’s game right, picking the Chiefs to defeat the San Francisco 49ers and crowning Mahomes as the MVP. That snapped two consecutive losses for the Madden game, ESPN reported. The game did, however, pick the New England Patriots to rally past the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, although it did not predict Tom Brady engineering a 25-point comeback. While Brady has impressive numbers in the “Madden NFL 21″ super simulation, Mahomes stole the show. The Chiefs’ quarterback completed 31 of 41 passes for 422 yards and four touchdowns, according to the simulation. Tyreek Hill, who bedeviled Tampa Bay during the teams’ real-life meeting earlier this season, was a force again, catching a pair of touchdown passes. Tight end Travis Kelce and Clyde Edwards-Helaire also caught scoring passes for Kansas City. Brady completed 30 of 44 passes for 322 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing an interception, according to the simulation. The Buccaneers’ quarterback threw scoring tosses to Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski. The Chiefs led 7-3 after the first quarter and 14-13 at halftime. The trailer is narrated by “Spokesplayer,” who is actor-comedian “King” Keraun Harris, according to Forbes. Spokesplayer made his “Madden NFL 21″ debut in August 2020, according to Bleacher Report. Spokesplayer was described in a press release as a “man who’s stepping into the spotlight and speaking up for the next generation of Madden players and NFL athletes and inspiring them to go all out in Madden NFL 21.” His commentary is just as exciting as the flurry of offenses that “Madden NFL 21″ projects for Super Bowl LV.
Madden NFL 21 simulation picks Kansas City Chiefs to beat Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV. Mike Greenberg, Ryan Clark and Domonique Foxworth break down whether Tom Brady vs. Patrick Mahomes is the best Super Bowl matchup of all time. (2:22) It isn't real yet, but in the virtual world, the Kansas City Chiefs are the repeat Super Bowl champions. In Madden NFL 21's official simulation of Super Bowl LV, the Chiefs beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37-27 for their second consecutive Lombardi trophy. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter with a 12-yard run to give Kansas City a 34-27 lead. The Chiefs added a late field goal to account for the final margin. The Madden simulation got the Super Bowl right last year, picking the Chiefs to beat the 49ers and Mahomes to be MVP. It ended two consecutive losses for the Madden sim, which had selected the Rams to beat the Patriots in Super Bowl LIII (New England won) and the Patriots to beat the Eagles in Super Bowl LII (the Eagles and Nick Foles were winners that year). Editor's Picks. EA Sports back in school with college football. Even Tom Brady has limits -- and embracing them is what got him here. Ranking Chiefs and Bucs players from 1-53: Which team has the best roster? The sim did get it right for Super Bowl LI, picking New England to come from behind to beat the Falcons, but the Madden sim's margin was not nearly as wide as the Patriots' historic comeback from a 28-3 deficit. Mahomes was the most valuable player in the Madden sim of Super Bowl LV after completing 31 of 41 passes for 422 yards and four touchdowns -- the second straight year he was named Super Bowl MVP. Mahomes threw touchdown passes to Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Travis Kelce as well as two to Tyreek Hill -- including one for 63 yards. The effort was just enough to hold off Tom Brady, who completed 30 of 44 passes for 322 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Brady threw touchdowns to Chris Godwin and Mike Evans as well as a fourth-quarter pass to Rob Gronkowski to tie the game at 27. Tampa Bay scored first in the Super Bowl sim with a Ryan Succop field goal, but the game's first touchdown was a 5-yard pass from Mahomes to Edwards-Helaire to give Kansas City a 7-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw more action, as Brady hit Godwin for a 24-yard TD before Mahomes connected with Hill for a score. Succop made another field goal, but the Chiefs led at halftime 14-13.

In most years, new seasons begin in September and run through December. While the contestants on the show are largely unknown to the general public at the time each season begins, oddsmakers still try their best to accurately handicap the field. In most years, you can find X Factor betting odds starting around a month before the new season begins. Perhaps you can find the list of contestants and look them up on YouTube in an attempt to gain some knowledge as to the caliber of those vying for the ultimate prize. You can place your bets on who will eventually win over the course of the entire season at sites for X Factor betting online. The X Factor Betting Strategy. The most popular way to bet on X Factor online is to try and pick the eventual winner at season’s end. Obviously, the easiest approach to take is to bet on the contestant that you think is the best singer. The show typically follows a similar formula with each season. There are obvious standouts on the show that will continue to improve their performance with each passing week. Oddsmakers typically base their numbers on public perception . That means those that become popular with fans will see their odds improve, while those that haven’t garnered as much media attention will face longer odds to win. Trying to predict how any contestant will fare over the course of a long season is inherently difficult, but it’s also a way to potentially gain an edge against the house. Oddsmakers typically aren’t putting in quite as much effort when it comes to X Factor odds as they will in more popular sports like soccer or football. If you time your bets well, you can potentially get them in before oddsmakers are able to adjust . Betting early in the season is also when you’ll find the most advantageous odds from a value perspective. The X Factor Betting FAQ. For example, one contestant might be a heavy favorite to win at one site, but another site hasn't yet updated their odds accordingly. Shopping for lines at different sites is what separates good bettors from great bettors.
Who is Sausage on Masked Singer? Act's identity 'exposed' as clues has viewers 100% convinced. Masked Singer fans declared they were '100% sold' on who Sausage was after a knock out performance on Saturday night. 19:30, 9 JAN 2021 Updated 12:05, 10 JAN 2021. Many Masked Singer viewers have declared they are '100% convinced' on who Sausage is after two revealing clues on Saturday night's show. After proving a massive success for ITV earlier this year, the zany guessing game is back on screens for series 2, with the celebrity panel and millions of viewers at home trying to answer the now famous question 'who's that behind the mask?' One of the Masked Singer acts in action in the first show was Sausage and after an introductory clue package in their introductory VT and a impressive performance, fans guessed at X Factor finalist turned Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon being the person in the very elaborate disguise. And, while another X Factor clue cropped up after her latest performance, with Sausage telling the panel she'd been told 'she looked like a pop star and sounded like a popstar' two other clues now have many sure it is Sheridan Smith in the weird costume, especially given that the X Factor clue could have been in a lie out of the two truths, one lie given. Odds revealed for every act on series 2 as fans speculate. In her VT, Sausage said she'd be happy with "a few beers and a bag of potato chips" - a clear nod to Sheridan being in Two Pints of a Lager and a packet of crisps. And then after her knock out performance of And I'm Telling You. from Dreamgirls, Sausage said her "hair colour was certified by law" - which panellist Jonathan Ross and plenty of people watching at home took to be a pointer to her West End leading role in Legally Blonde. One tweeted: "Sausage is 100% Sheridan Smith," and, in firm agreement, another reacted: "The sausage is definitely Sheridan Smith. They showed two pints of lager and a packet of crisps. Also thats so her voice." A third posted: "My money is also on Sheridan Smith for Sausage (there's a sentence I never thought I would utter" However, shutting down the theory a die hard Sheridan fan tweeted: "SAUSAGE - all the clues seem to be pointing towards Sheridan Smith however her voice sounds nothing like that. I still think it's a xfactor person (maybe even the celeb version"

S aturday’s big Grade 1 contest is the Clarence House Chase over just shy of two miles and a furlong at Ascot at 3.35pm. Champion trainer-elect Paul Nicholls has won this race more times than anyone else (five) and bids to claim it for the first time since Dodging Bullets triumphed in 2015 as he fires reigning Queen Mother Champion Chase hero Politologue at the target. Last year’s winner Defi Du Seuil is also back in the mix, though Philip Hobbs’ charge has major questions to answer after pulling up on his last start. Having twice seen the back of Defi Du Seuil last winter, the Paul Nicholls-trained grey Politologue delivered a front-running masterclass to win the Champion Chase at Cheltenham in March, a race in which stable jockey Harry Cobden chose to ride Dynamite Dollars instead of the eventual winner. Politologue comes to Ascot having sparkled when winning the Tingle Creek last month on his comeback, once more with Harry Skelton on top. That was probably a less than vintage renewal of the Sandown showpiece, but Politologue scored with some considerable style. His trainer feels he has finally solved the puzzle with this horse and Cobden is back on board this weekend for the first time since those defeats behind Defi Du Seuil early last term. On form, they are the pick for this race but it may not be as straightforward as the odds imply. Defi Du Seuil won this contest on heavy ground a year ago, completing a Grade 1 double on the back of his own Tingle Creek success. He flopped badly at Cheltenham in March however, and was again a major disappointment when pulled up in the Grade 2 Shloer Chase in the Cotswolds on his comeback in November. Major questions must be answered now by Richard Johnson’s mount. Time to go with the Flow. Waiting Patiently is the second choice in the betting for trainer Ruth Jefferson. He was fancied to produce a big run in the King George at Kempton last month and duly finished an excellent second to the gallant Frodon in the Boxing Day showpiece. He also finished a close third in last season’s Tingle Creek behind Defi Du Seuil. It might be that he's better served over a longer trip now and, given his troubles with getting to the racecourse, it would also be good to see him back up the Kempton run before wagering. The Venetia Williams-trained Fanion D’Estruval was far from done with when he came down in the Peterborough Chase at Cheltenham last month and could have an each-way squeak, but at decent odds, preference is for First Flow for the Kim Bailey team. He has proved himself a hugely consistent performer over fences and has yet to finish outside the first three in ten starts over the larger obstacles. Having ended last season with a trio of wins in novice company at Leicester, Doncaster and Carlisle, he has remained progressive with successes over course and distance and at Wetherby this season. The nine-year-old was game at the Yorkshire track over Christmas in landing a competitive handicap off a mark of 154 and merits a cut at this prize, especially all of the field bar Politologue having something to prove. He thrives on testing ground and is sure to get that here, and November’s course-and-distance success stands him in good stead. Whether or not he is good enough to topple an in-form Politologue remains to be seen but, with the dead-eight field confirmed, he could well extend his sequence of top-three finishes. The X Factor won't air this year, but will return in 2021. Simon Cowell is resting the show for 2020. The X Factor 's next series will air in 2021, with Simon Cowell deciding to rest the show this year. In December, ITV announced that it has renewed the long-running singing competition programme for another series, but Digital Spy can confirm that this won't air in 2020. Producers are said to want to take their time and not rush things, so that they can "reinvigorate" the show for when it eventually returns the year after. ITV fully supports Simon's decision. A production source said: "Simon is planning to rest The X Factor this year. He and the producers want to take a breath to really think through the show and how to reinvigorate it for the future. And they don't believe they can do that if they go straight into another cycle of the show this year. "Although The X Factor is contracted for one more series, ITV totally understand the rationale behind the idea of resting it this year and want to give Simon and the team the time to do what they feel is right." A spokesperson for Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor said: "Plans for this autumn are still being finalised and will be announced in due course. We are currently filming Britain's Got Talent 2020." The X Factor didn't have a 'regular' series last year, but had The X Factor: Celebrity and The X Factor: The Band in its place. Megan McKenna became the first celebrity winner of the show in late November, beating V5, Jenny Ryan, and Max & Harvey in the final, while girl group Real Like You emerged triumphant in December's band edition of the show.

RedZoneSports.bet has joined forces with TrakBak Racing, in a collaboration that is set to see exclusive and bespoke betting markets offered on UK Drag Racing for the first time. Becoming headline sponsor of the DoorSlammers event set to be held at Santa Pod Raceway , the Argyll Entertainment US sports led brand is to offer the industry first markets across the weekend of May 19 and 20. Stuart Tilly, CEO of Argyll Entertainment, commented: “RedZoneSports.bet is uniquely positioned as a bespoke British bookmaker for US sports, so it’s incredibly exciting to be the first UK bookmaker to offer exclusive betting opportunities around this distinctly US motorsport. “With NFL, NBA and now MLB fixtures becoming a mainstay of the UK Sporting calendar, we’re anticipating the burgeoning popularity of US Sports to widen the interest and appeal of less traditional, but just as adrenaline-fueled sports such as drag racing.” Creating the drag racing betting markets live from the trackside, ReZoneSports.bet also details that it is also to be providing an exclusive stream of the event across its social media channels. Stephen Baumohl, Director of Trading at Argyll Entertainment, explained: “When first approached with the opportunity to become the first UK sportsbook to offer odds on a drag racing event in Europe, it seemed a perfect fit; head to head racing in a rapid format would likely have a lot of customer appeal. “In the absence of automated feeds, the challenge has been to model the sport to an acceptable level by immersing myself in all the data I can find and watching as many races as possible, as well relying on the fantastic support of Santa Pod Raceway in giving me advice and answering questions along the way. “Despite it being a challenging exercise, we’re confident that our customers will welcome this unique and exclusive opportunity to wager on such a simple, easy to understand, yet highly compelling racing format.” Keith Bartlett, CEO of TrakBak Racing and Santa Pod Raceway, added: “Santa Pod has been looking to develop online drag racing betting for some time and we’re delighted to have found the perfect partner in Redzonesports.bet. “The new вЂDoorslammers’ event is the ideal event to introduce this exciting new element to drag racing and further enhance our spectator experience.
Betting odds on nhra drag racing. The William Hill Race and Sports Book company has over 100 locations in and around Las Vegas and the have cooked up the betting line as it comes to drivers at this weekend’s Denso 4-Wide Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock are represented below and every driver on the entry list is handicapped according to the book makers that work for William Hill. It is kind of fun to see how they think stuff will play out and poking around through the drivers that we talk to, there are some guys who think it is ok and there are some guys and girls who think that the odds are junk. Kind of as you’d expect, right? Obviously, I am not going to be gambling because I am working the race and I have a strong feeling NHRA would likely frown upon me doing that. These things being said, I think there are some smart bets to be made here and some money to collect from your wisdom. I think Linderg, Todd, and Langdon are sleepers from where they are sitting. A couple bucks on either of those three would pay back handsomely and all three have the chops to win. In top fuel I think that McMillan, Salinas, and Billy Torrance block are the same as the last three. Remember, this is four wide racing so you only have to “runner up” a couple times to make the final, you do not have to win every round. In pro stock I am guessing Greg Anderson will have this thing pinned to the door of the trailer and say, “Oh, really?!” every time he walks by. I think they have not paid him due respect on this one. The same goes for Vincent Nobile as well in my estimation. I’m going to double back on this next week to see how the bookies did at predicting the future!

It was Kalitta who introduced the SOHC and Boss 429 motors to fuel racing with his T/F entries, but by his pictured 72 ride, the “Bounty Hunter” had made the switch to Hemi power. Among Kalitta’s other accomplishments were his tutelage of Shirley Muldowney into the F/C and T/F ranks and giving a young Tripp Shumake his first driving assignment… in a Bounty Hunter Mustang when Kalitta was unable to show for a match race obligation. Following the above flopper, Kalitta went back to his T/F roots in the mid-70s, but remerged in the flopper ranks in the mid-80s with a Mustang driven by son Scott and sponsored by his own Kalitta Flying Service. Social Media Feedback: Ron Myers: Want to make really big money? Get into a “business” (racket) where people get easily hooked. Insidiously remove one’s power of choice and self respect, and by all means grab their money. Sell sex, violence, (sell anything using it). Hook ’em on rock. Fatten them up on unhealthy food, then “cure” them on prescription drugs. Flog tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, fast flashy cars, credit sharks, unscrupulous lawyers promising to turn your injury into a handsome settlement. Sell by flattery, seduction. Sell ’em impossible dreams! Sell, sell, invoice, collect, whether or not you can deliver. That’s today’s perverted world. Should we now add gambling to the mix? Sure! Why not? If YOU don’t sell it, billboards, digital media or somebody else will profit, in this unscrupulous world of lust, pride and filth, run by narcissists without pity, compassion or empathy. After all, “I’m entitled” to win. The world owes ME a good living. Everything revolves around ME, my business, my bottom line. Broken homes, ruined finances and lives, damaged kids?… who gives a damn… as long as my racket (excuse me… “business”… makes profit. Welcome, folks, to capitalism run amuck!

Legal US Sportsbook Affiliate Programs. Six US Sportsbook Affiliate Programs. State governments can now generate revenue from taxes and fees on sportsbook operations. Individuals, other than just those who are the lucky winners, can earn money as well. One way to get paid is by becoming a part of a sportsbook affiliate program. Here is a quick overview of sportsbook affiliates, plus six programs for you to consider. What is a Sportsbook Affiliate Program? Anyone with a website should realize that your website can earn you money. There are various ways you can get paid simply from traffic to your website. If your objective is some type of sales, of course, that will be priority number one. However, you can also earn commissions by including ads, or from clicks that transfer to other websites. This is how a sportsbook affiliate works. You begin with a website and post content that attracts sports enthusiasts. Inside your content, or through ads, you steer them to a site that offers a legal sportsbook. Online casinos and gambling related blogs can earn huge profits by sending players to online gaming sites. This same principle applies to online sportsbooks as well. Many states have established regulations for affiliate programs. They deem the relationship to be a profitable partnership and treat sportsbook affiliate programs as such. In states, such as New Jersey, affiliate marketers can be required to pay a $5,000 licensing fee. The state deems this a cost of business to enter into a direct affiliate relationship. There are programs available that do not have fees, but likewise, the commissions may not be as substantial. Here are six sportsbook affiliate programs where you can earn money from new account registrations. DraftKings Affiliates Program. DraftKings has a number of benefits that make it one of the most appealing options for a sportsbook affiliate program. Here’s a list of the commission structure and other points of interest about the DraftKings Affiliate Program. The DraftKings Affiliates Program is free and there is a DraftKings Sportsbook & DraftKings Daily Fantasy program. DraftKings is already a leader in the daily fantasy sports industry. They are a visible name in the sports world, with direct partnerships with professional sports leagues. DraftKing’s websites continues to explore innovative technological improvements. They too provide a secure website with pages that are easily navigated on a desktop or mobile device. The commission structure pays 40% of the net gaming revenue inside the first 30 days and 25% from 31 days on. You can choose to be paid your earnings by check or through PayPal. Links and materials are provided in your DraftKings Affiliates account. You cannot, however, use outside promotional codes or referrals that are not approved by DraftKings. The DraftKings Affiliates Program is both managed and paid internally by DraftKings. There are no third party fees or associations. FanDuel Partners. The FanDuel affiliates program is called FanDuel Partners. The program is very similar to the DraftKings Affiliates Program. These are the two biggest daily fantasy sports providers and each boasts millions of daily visitors. You can establish a FanDuel Partners account for free. FanDuel has a multi-tiered commission structure for both FanDuel Sportsbook and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Sports. The cost per acquisition CPA increases the more new users you send to FanDuel. CPA earnings start at $25 and increase to $35 per new account over 100. Commissions on revenue are a healthy 35% for all levels. This is a recent change by FanDuel from the initial multi-tiered revenue share program. FanDuel Partners can get paid through PayPal, a bank check, or wire transfer. There are frequent reports provided by FanDuel to track your clicks, registrations, plus the amount of deposits that your new accounts have generated. You can use multiple tracking IDs on FanDuel Partners to help you optimize your own marketing design. Sugarhouse Sportsbook Affiliate Program. SugarHouse has a variety of player promotions for their casino games and Sugarhouse sportsbook , and these same types of promotions can earn more for affiliate partnerships. Through Rush Street, you can enter into an affiliate relationship that earns you money from referrals and new accounts at SugarHouse. The SugarHouse platform is very mobile-friendly. Their primary target market is online gamers. Once legal, the same tendency should transfer over to sportsbook operations. Rush Street Interactive oversees operations for the Casino4Fun at the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Look for this affiliate program to open in Pennsylvania when legislators finalize legal sportsbooks in that state. Income Access, now owned by Paysafe Group is the digital wallet used to partner with Rush Street Inactive and SugarHouse Sportsbook Affiliate Partners. BetStars Sportsbook Affiliate Program. BetStars is legally licensed to operate in New Jersey, plus has pending applications with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to operate there as well. The Stars Group, managing operator for BetStars has linked a partnership with the Mount Airy Casino Resort in Pennsylvania. The commission structure at PokerStars bundles some earnings. Commissions are paid to a player’s account or a direct wire transfer only. The platform is offered in multiple languages and available on both desktop and mobile systems. Revenue sharing starts at 15% for your first two players and graduates as high as 35% if you generate 200 or more new players. Pala Casino Sportsbook Affiliate Program. Making money from Sports Betting Affiliate Programs. п»їMaking money from Sports Betting Affiliate Programs. There is a new and explosive trend in the world of gambling and sports betting—Internet sports betting. People are finding out in droves through Internet searches and word of mouth how simple it is to bet on sports on the World Wide Web. The Internet is saturated with new ideas and schemes to вЂget rich quick’—but few are successful, except if you are dealing in sports betting. The introduction of the Internet has especially opened the floodgates for the sports betting industry. The Internet finally allowed websites and their owners to tap into an audience and membership worldwide instead of only a local audience. The diversity of members has increased the feasibility of the sports betting industry online and has created one of the chief and most commanding online sectors. These sports betting websites turn over billions of dollars every year and are growing more and more every day. What if I told you that you could make money as a sports betting affiliate without ever risking even a penny of your own money? It’s true. There are literally thousands of sports betting websites all vying for a piece of the pie. The big money is not only being made by the facilitators of the sports betting websites, but rather by an affiliate system. The sports betting affiliate program is evident on most of the sports betting and gambling websites. They offer a bounty and/or revenue sharing program to help advertise their particular sports betting website, hopefully above the others. Bounty sharing, in terms of sports betting affiliate systems, offers you a reward for attracting a new, paying customer. You, as an affiliate, can do this by word of mouth, directing traffic on your website to a particular sports betting website and advertising. This is a вЂtake the money and run’ effort—a one time payment for your efforts of drawing in new, paying customers. However, bounty sharing may not be the most profitable venture in the long run. Many sports betting websites offer a revenue sharing affiliate program. The programs offered vary slightly from company to company, however the generalized idea is that you earn a percentage of the money spent by a player, which usually runs between 20 and 35 percent and in some cases, you can also earn money on player deposits. 20 percent may not seem like very much money, but it can indeed add up to a large amount of cash—your cash—as you build your referral base of paying sports betters. As they say, “the bookie never loses”—you are placing your bets on the right side of the coin by joining as an affiliate. Let’s face it—advertising is expensive and getting yourself to the top of the вЂGoogle scale’ is nearly impossible without investing thousands and thousands of dollars and then the websites have to worry about getting people to click specifically on their website. There is a better way for them to market their sports betting website. A way to stretch their dollar further and work that much harder for them—by paying you to advertise for them. Nothing travels faster than word of mouth advertising—by placing a banner on your website, which already generates traffic, they only pay you for the paying customers that your website or link generates for their sports betting site. Do not confuse this for a вЂclick-through’ program—it’s not. This type of sports betting affiliate program requires the customer that clicks through your banner/website/link to actually sign up to the sports betting website, deposit money and gamble it. What do they have to lose? Twenty percent of how much ever much money your clientele spends. That leaves the sports betting website 80 percent of the pie, which in turn equals cheap advertising and marketing for them, and possibly mega bucks for you. As your paying referred clientele list grows with the sports betting affiliate program, so will your earnings. Think about it—if you have 10 people who spend $100 dollars a month at the sports betting website, you have earned yourself $200 with very little work. If you have 50 paying referrals who each spend $250 a month—at 20 percent you have just earned yourself $2,500 for simply directing traffic from your website to sign up on a sports betting site. What’s more, you have nothing to lose and money to gain. Even if your referred clients win big throughout the month, most sports betting affiliate programs do not carry over a negative balance. The more of your own advertising you do for the company, the sweeter your own rewards will be. What are you waiting for? The time to act is now—it is never too late to get a piece of this fast-growing evolution in gambling.

Why 52.4% is the most important percentage in sports gambling. Albert Einstein putatively claimed that compound interest was the most powerful force in the universe, declaring that: “He who understands it, earns it…He who doesn’t…pays for it.” The simple mathematical logic supporting compound interest’s power to exponentially grow capital over time is irrefutable. Anyone in finance, or with a cursory understanding of bean-counting, knows that time is money. In a similar vain, the fact that sports gamblers must win or cover bets over at least 52.4% of the time is an inevitable hurdle all sports gamblers must clear to be profitable. What’s the deal with 52.4%? The economics of sports gambling is constructed so that the house or sportsbooks typically require players to wager at least 1.10x to win x. Put another way, most bookmakers give 10 to 11 odds — forcing the gambler to risk $11 to win $10 contingent on the outcome of a binary event (e.g., win or lose, cover the spread or not). If your team wins or covers, you win $10 (in addition to your $11 depository wager); if not, the bookmaker keeps your $11. And if the outcome is a push (e.g. the margin of victory = the spread), no money is exchanged. To better illustrate this concept and explain the derivation of 52.4%, let’s turn to an expected value formula [ see Ex. 1.0, below]. Ex. 1.0: How Vegas Works. Sportsbooks profit by either: being on the winning side of wager and/or; through earning risk-less profits via structured commissions embedded into the gambling odds. Let the expected value (EV) of a wager be defined as: EV = W(p) — L(1-p) W = potential cash winnings ($) p = probability of winning (%) L = potential loss or amount risked to win W ($) 1-p = probability of losing (%) You risk $11 to win $10 if Team XYZ covers the spread. $10p — $11(1-p) = 0. To solve for p , set the expected value or expected profit equal to zero. p = $11 / ($11+$10) p = $11 / $21. p = 0.5238 or apx. 52.4% As this example demonstrates, p = 0.524 is the value that makes our expected profit equal to zero. Therefore we can conclude that 52.4% is the frequency or rate that we must clear to make a profit, or wager to earn expected values > 0. If this embedded edge did not exist, bettors would merely need to win 50.1% of the time to be profitable. How Vegas Works: Bookies’ Indifference. We can expand on the previous formula by incorporating the profit opportunity derived from bettors’ preference of wagering on a favorite: We can simplify the previous equation further by rearranging the terms to: p = probability that a favorite wins a particular game f = fraction of total currency wagered on the favorite out of total currency wagered on the game v = vig or commission levied by sportsbooks, which is paid only on losing bets. According to the Freakeconomics economist, Steven Levitt, “If either the probability the two teams win is equal (p = 0.5) or the money bet on both teams is equal (f = 0.5), the bookmakers gross profit simplifies to v/2. In either of these instances, the bookmaker is indifferent about the outcome of the game and earns a riskless [ sic ] profit proportional to the size of the commission charged.” To ensure profit, the bookmaker need not be able to predict the outcome of games more accurately than bettors — the bookmaker merely needs to predict bettor preferences so as to balance wagers on each side. Given the aforementioned, let’s solve for the expected value (EV) of a fair coin toss from a bettor’s perspective utilizing the following expected value equation (below): Should you take this wager? EXAMPLE 1.1. You risk $11 to win $10 if the fair coin flip comes up heads. $10p — $11(1-p) = Expected Value (EV) p = .50 = the probability of winning a bet (heads). 1- p = .50 = the probability of losing a bet (tails). $10 = The amount awarded to the gambler if heads. $11 = The amount risked by the gambler to win $10, which goes to the house if the gambler loses (tails). (10* 0.50) — (11* 0.50) = -0.50 = Expected Value (EV) To calculate your expected long-term return on investment (ROI), simply divide the expected value by the amount risked: [(EV) / (Amount Risked)] = ROI. (-0.50/11) = -4.55% Now Imagine that instead of making a spread bet, you were betting on a fair coin toss with 50–50 odds (i.e., 50% win, 50% lose). A: You should never take this wager as your expected value is negative [EV rigged coin whereby heads has a 52.4% chance of being flipped (p = 0.524) and tails has a 47.6% chance being flipped (1-p = 0.476) then your expected value would equal zero (as demonstrated in Ex. 1.0). While you won’t lose money in the long-run playing this game, you certainly won’t make any! How Vegas Works: Break-Even? An efficient way to break the bank… The Vigorish: How Sportsbooks Collect Risk-less Profits. In traditional bookmaking parlance, the vigorish , often disparagingly referred to colloquially as the vig , juice , or rake is the theoretical risk-less average profit per unit collected by a sportsbook assuming a roughly even split of betting currency on each side (e.g. 50% of wagers on the favorite; 50% on the dog). Returning to Ex. 1.0, let’s assume that 50% of the betting action supported Team XYZ covering the spread whereby Team XYZ backers risked $11 to win $10 per bet in the event that Team XYZ covers. Furthermore, let’s assume that the sportsbooks collected an equal proportion of wagers supporting Team XYZ’s opponent, Team ABC covering the spread whereby ABC spread bettors also risked $11 to win $10 per bet. So long as the game’s final margin does not land on ( push ) the spread value, sportsbooks will earn a guaranteed profit of $1 per bet [ see Ex. 1.2 below for further explanation]. EXAMPLE 1.2. 50% of the money bet on Team XYZ to cover -5.5. Bettors for each side risked $11 to win $10. The house pays out the Team ABC supporters at $10 per ticket, and holds the $11 per Team XYZ wager, retaining a guaranteed profit of $11-$10 or $1. The house retained $1/$22 or 0.045 (4.5%) as the vig, returning the $11 risked plus the $10 in winnings to the Team ABC backers. How to conceptualize probability and hurdle rates. Expected Value [EV] / Amount Risked $ = Return on investment [ROI %] The ROI is best conceptualized as your expected return per wager in the long run. Our human minds are not predisposed to naturally think in terms of probability, incidentally we tend to incorrectly interpret a loss for a given event with a 52.9% probability of occurring (47.1% probability of not occurring) as having a 0% of occurring because it did not go our way. It is helpful to keep a quarter handy to anchor the mind to what 50% feels like as a heuristic to better calibrate our schema in terms of chance. Flip the quarter and call it 10 times, and tally how many times you called it properly. Remember that a 52.9% likelihood is not very different (in terms of probability) from 50%! Like compounding, intelligent wagering is a long-term game. All of these hypothetical values are long-term returns that ought to be achieved with time and a sufficiently large sample size assuming your fundamental odds are more accurate than the market, and that you only wager when the EV > 0. Expected Value Table. Risk $110.00 to Win $100. p(w) = 52.9% EV = (0.529 * $100)-(0.471 * $110) = 1.05, ROI = 1.05/$110 = 0.95% May the odds be forever in your favor. Works Cited. Ohio State athletics department reports record revenue in 2020 fiscal year. USA TODAY Sports' Mackenzie Salmon breaks down the path to Alabama's dynamic national championship run. USA TODAY. COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s athletics department brought in a school-record $233.9 million during the 2019-20 fiscal year, according to its annual financial report submitted to the NCAA and obtained by The Columbus Dispatch through a public-records request. The immediate takeaway is that the effects of the coronavirus pandemic were felt less in the 2019-20 fiscal year, which ran from July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020. For one thing, the 2019 football season, which ended with an Ohio State appearance in the College Football Playoff, was unaffected by the pandemic, which first disrupted college sports programs in March. Athletics director Gene Smith said last month that the department currently is projecting a deficit "just south" of $70 million in the 2020-2021 fiscal year. The pandemic forced Ohio State to play football games this past fall at Ohio Stadium with no fans in attendance, wiping out its largest source of revenue. Football ticket sales make up about a quarter of the department’s annual operating budget, plus additional game-day income from parking, concessions and merchandise. A late start to the season also resulted in a shortened schedule and fewer televised games. It’s unknown whether Big Ten schools will receive their full media rights revenue this year. (Photo: Kyle Robertson/Columbus Dispatch, Kyle Robertson/Columbus Dispatch) Audited financial figures for fiscal 2020-21 won’t be available until next winter, though the department began preparing for a revenue drop-off in September when it laid off 25 employees and instituted furloughs, among other cost-saving measures. Top-earning coaches took 5% pay cuts, saving about $1 million for the department. Smith remarked last year that the pandemic’s fiscal challenges were greater than those from the Great Recession more than a decade ago. In a statement released Thursday, he said he has been “pleased with how the athletic department and athletes showed resiliency in adjusting to a sudden, once-in-a-lifetime situation.” Ohio State’s record fiscal 2019-20 revenue is the second-highest single-year amount reported by any athletics department during the 16 years that USA TODAY Sports has compiled data for NCAA Division I public schools, most recently in partnership with Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. However, it is the largest total under the NCAA’s current reporting system by about $10 million. Not adjusting for inflation, Oklahoma State reported more than $241 million in the 2005-06 fiscal year, when oil tycoon Boone Pickens donated $165 million to his alma mater. Since then, the NCAA has changed its instructions to schools concerning how they should account for contributions they receive in a year. Schools are now supposed to report the amount of contributions made to — and spent by — the athletics department during the reporting year. Under the current setup, Oklahoma State’s 2005-06 total likely would have been substantially lower. Under the current setup, the largest single-year operating revenue total had been Texas’ $223.9 million for fiscal 2019. For fiscal 2020, Texas reported $220.8 million in operating revenue. Largely resulting from its growing revenue, the Ohio State athletics department reported a surplus of about $18.7 million in fiscal 2019-20 after a budget deficit last year of about $10 million. In 2019-20, Ohio State showed $233,871,740 in total operating revenues and it reported $210,548,239 in total operating expenses. Sharp rises in donations, as well as sponsorships and licensing agreements, led to the revenue increase, the third straight fiscal year it has reported more than $200 million in revenue, a mark it first surpassed in 2017-18. Contributions, which include those from individuals, corporations and other organizations, saw a 62% year-over-year increase, jumping from $29.7 million to $48.2 million in 2019-20. The university did not immediately respond to a request to explain the increase in donations. The revenues from licensing, advertisement and sponsorships also rose, from $22.9 million to $30.8 million. Total ticket sales also increased to nearly $66 million, including $56.6 million from football, which included seven home games in the 2019 season. Due to the cancellation of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament last March, Ohio State received a smaller distribution from the college sports governing body, falling from $5.5 million to just under $3 million. But most of the men’s basketball season went off in 2019-20, allowing the Buckeyes to sell tickets to games at Value City Arena and generate similar media rights revenue. Total operating expenses went down by about $5.5 million, largely through a $2.4 million reduction in team travel. Most spring sports seasons were canceled in March, reducing costs for the remainder of the 2019-20 fiscal year. Football bowl expenses were also down, by about $2.3 million. The Buckeyes played in a playoff semifinal at the Fiesta Bowl after a Rose Bowl appearance the previous year. The athletics department further saved about $800,000 in recruiting travel costs after the NCAA instituted a dead period, prohibiting coaches from traveling across the country to meet with high school prospects in person. The dead period remains in effect through April 15. With a surplus, the department transferred almost $3.5 million to the university, an increase by $362,583 from last year.
